The role of the New Generations Committee is to assist in the planning, organization and implementation of New Generation programs. New Generations programs are those aimed at providing experiential and developmental opportunities to a range of deserving young people in the community.
In recent years, these programs have included:
RYPEN is a program of weekend seminars for young people between the ages of 14 and 17 years. Its principal aim is the communication of a series of ideas, problems and social experiences, which will assist the young participants in forming their own values and moral standards

The National Youth Science Forum provides a unique experience for some 500 of Australia's best Year 11 school students who are interested in science.
For 12 days in January, students go to Canberra or Perth and live on campus as a university student. NYSF participants come from around Australia and overseas to meet a range of scientists and researchers, to visit them at work and to do the kinds of things scientists do every day.
The NYSF participants debate the hottest science and engineering topics and pick up valuable skills to give them the edge in year 12 and beyond. It is not all work; they also enjoy the fellowship of their other NYSF participants through trivia quizzes, BBQs, discos and a range of sports.
Selection is competitive and not based solely on academic results, as NYSF participants should have interests outside school. The Rotary Club of Sydney has sponsored a number of participants in NYSF.
This international youth project simulates the workings of the United Nations Assembly by having teams of two senior students from a number of secondary schools represent a particular UN country in debates on matters of world political, social and environmental issues.
The assembly is about building bridges of goodwill and world peace and understanding through a personal involvement in the acceptance of situations that reflect the opinion of “adopted” countries. Students are challenged by the opportunities to extend research, debating and public speaking skills by addressing a wide range of contemporary, world focused issues.
An auditorium is used to recreate the U.N. Assembly chamber with name plates, flags and national costumers being encouraged. The assembly is chaired and judged by Rotarians with prizes being awarded for the best overall presentation, the best contribution to a world peace solution and the best costume.

RYLA is a premier youth leadership development program designed to promote proactively, personal and professional development of Australian youth aged 19-24, who have already been identified with exceptional leadership potential.
Participants meet for a week-long camp at Stanwell Tops Conference Centre to learn to understand their strengths and the abilities of others, focus on personal direction and develop leadership skills. The program covers team-building, communication skills, self-motivation, negotiation skills and conflict resolution.
The group put on a dinner and show for some 200 people on the fourth night, having designed the dinner, written their 'acts' and organised the evening (and it's a wonderful evening) after only a few days together.
Participants make friends for life and without fail say that it was one of the most wonderful experiences of their lives.

Fiducian Your Country is a program aimed at providing young people from the city with real experience of the country. Intended for those who have limited, if any, experience of the country, the Program takes a group of students to Coonabarabran for 6 days, during which time they experience first-hand many aspects of life in rural Australia.
The Youth Exchange Program is an International exchange for young people between the ages of 15 – 18. The exchange is for a 12 month period during which time the student is hosted by 3 – 4 families therefore experiencing different lifestyles. It is a reciprocal educational exchange, therefore students must attend school.
